Hastings United’s game away to Hythe Town tomorrow (Tuesday) night will be subject to a morning pitch inspection.

The Reachfields playing surface is due to be checked at 9am with the Ryman Football League Division One South match in doubt after several days of very wet weather.

Both teams have won their last two fixtures and are looking to challenge for a play-off place during the second half of the season from their present mid-table positions.

The match carries a bit of added spice because striker Jack Harris is now lining up for Hythe having recently been released by United and is playing alongside another former United striker in Frankie Sawyer.

Little Common are also due to be in action tomorrow night with a Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup third round tie away to Arundel, but that must also be in severe doubt, particularly with further rain forecast over the next 24 hours.

United’s development squad was due to be in Ryman U21 League South Division action at home to Whyteleafe tonight, but that match has just been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at The Pilot Field.
