Two of the three senior football matches due to take place in the area tomorrow (Saturday) have already been postponed.

Rye United’s home game against Newhaven in Sussex County Football League Division One and Westfield’s visit from Mile Oak in Division Two have fallen victim to waterlogged pitches following all the recent rain.

Elsewhere, Hastings United’s trip to Redhill in Ryman Football League Division One South and Bexhill United’s match at home to Broadbridge Heath in Sussex Division Two are both subject to morning pitch inspections.

Eight of the 10 Sussex Division One fixtures and five out of eight in Division Two have been called-off already, and those figures are highly likely to increase in the morning with yet more rain forecast for tomorrow.

The ADA East Sussex Football League is due to reconvene tomorrow after its festive break, but the overwhelming majority of matches across the seven divisions have been rained-off.

Return to this website tomorrow for further updates.
