Two players have come in and one appears to be on his way out of Hastings United.

Danny Ellis and Billy Medlock, pictured, have signed on a dual-registration basis from Bexhill United and Eastbourne Borough respectively, but Jordan Woodley may well have played his last game.

Skilful midfielder Ellis will be no stranger to Pilot Field regulars as the 25-year-old spent several seasons at in-form Ryman Football League Premier Division club United during his late teens and early 20s.

Medlock will be less familiar. A product of Eastbourne Borough’s youth and reserve sections, the striker scored 10 goals during a recent loan spell with Sussex Division One outfit Redhill. Both men will be in today’s squad.

Ray now has a squad of 16 which doesn’t include Woodley. The talented but temperamental young attacking player completed his month-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion by being sent-off at Tooting & Mitcham United.

He then got released by Brighton on Monday and despite scoring in United’s 4-0 friendly win the following night, the referee asked United to substitute him after an hour following a needless spat with an opponent.

United are up to 13th on the back of three consecutive away league wins, but Ray admits they face the “toughest test” of his short time in The Pilot Field hot-seat tomorrow when they travel to high-flying Metropolitan Police.
