Hastings United head into their clash away to bottom-of-the-table Eastbourne Town today (Saturday) looking to make it three wins in a row.

The U’s appear to have recovered their composure after a dramatic downturn in form saw them suffer three defeats on the spin at a crucial time in their push for promotion in Ryman Football League Division One South.

Fifth-placed United ended the miserable run with a comeback win over Corinthian-Casuals last weekend before hitting six in a dominant display away to Crawley Down Gatwick on Tuesday night.

Terry White’s team will be expected to continue their revival against opposition who have been beaten in six of their last seven league games. White, though, is wary of the threat posed by a Town side managed by former United boss John Lambert.

“Out of all the games this season, I’m sure John will want to get a result in this one,” said White. “I’m just looking to get a repeat performance of Tuesday’s game against Crawley.

“Confidence is better than before. At the start of this month it wasn’t great, but now we’re picking up results again. I’m confident we can get a win from what will be a tough game.”

Elsewhere today, Rye United’s scheduled game away to Selsey in Sussex County Football League Division One won’t take place after Rye withdrew from the league yesterday. In Division Two,
