Hastings United will begin the 2011/12 season at home to newly-promoted opposition.

The U’s will kick-off their Ryman League Premier Division programme on Saturday August 20 with a visit from a Wingate & Finchley side which has come up from Division One North.

United will travel to East Thurrock United the following Tuesday and Bury Town four days after that. They will then entertain Margate on the August Bank Holiday Monday.

As expected, United manager Jason Hopkinson will face his former club Lewes on Boxing Day and Easter Monday with the Christmas game taking place at The Pilot Field.

Unusually, fixtures have been pencilled in for New Year’s Eve with United at home to East Thurrock. Two days later, they are away to Margate.

United will finish the season at home to Metropolitan Police, promoted from Division One South, on April 28. The two matches against Horsham will take place on October 29 (home) and February 18 (away).

The full fixture list will appear in Friday’s Hastings Observer.
