A pitch inspection has been arrenged for Hastings United Football Club’s scheduled fixture tonight (Tuesday).

The Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup second round tie away to AFC Uckfield Town is subject to a 3.30pm pitch inspection at The Oaks.

The match has already been postponed once and a second call-off would result in the tie being switched to The Pilot Field at a later date.

Uckfield’s weekend league game succumbed to a waterlogged pitch and the surface was lashed by plenty more rain from yesterday afternoon through the night.

Uckfield are fourth in Macron Store Sussex County Football League Division Two, while United play their football two levels further up the non-league pyramid in Ryman Division One South.

United’s under-21s, mneanwhile, were unfortunate to go down 3-1 at home to Whitstable Town in the Ryman U21 League South Division last night. Jordan Woodley scored United’s goal with a first half free kick.
