Westfield made it two wins in the space of five days with three more points today (Saturday).
The village club opened up a 2-0 first half lead en route to a 3-2 victory away to Wick in Sussex County Football League Division Two. It was the second time this season that Westfield have beaten Wick 3-2 because that was also how it ended in September’s reverse fixture.
Elsewhere, however, it was bad news for the area’s senior clubs today. Sidley United lost 2-0 away to Dorking Wanderers in an important game towards the foot of Sussex Division One with both goals coming during the first half. It was the opposite scoreline to the previous meeting between the clubs in November.
Bexhill United were hammered 5-1 at home to Broadbridge Heath with James McKenzie scoring the consolation. Also in Division Two, Little Common were edged out 1-0 away to Storrington. See Friday’s Observers for full reports on each of these matches.
Hastings United’s trip to Bury Town in the Ryman League Premier Division and Rye United’s game away to East Preston in Sussex Division One were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
