The footballers of Bexhill United and Little Common recorded 1-0 victories away from home on Saturday.
Bexhill got the better of Rustington to end a seven-match winless run in Sussex County Football League Division Two, while Common triumphed against Midhurst & Easebourne to continue their good form in the same division.
The goal that decided a hard-fought game in Bexhill’s favour came early on. Jacob Shelton netted his 15th of the season and second in successive outings in only the fourth minute.
Common made it three straight wins and clean sheets thanks to a 75th minute strike by Steve Morris - his third in as many matches. In fact, Common have picked up 16 points from the last 21 available.
Elsewhere in Sussex Division Two, Westfield went down 2-0 away to second-placed Loxwood with both goals coming after the break. It was Westfield’s seventh loss in their last nine games and fifth successive defeat on a Saturday.
