Noon inspection for U’s match

Hastings United's game at Peacehaven & Telscombe tonight is subject to a 12noon inspection

Hastings United’s game away to Peacehaven & Telscombe tonight (Wednesday) is subject to a 12noon inspection.

Although a lot of rain has fallen in the last 24 hours or so, the pitch at The Sports Park drains well and the forecast for today is dry and breezy which should help the surface recover.

If the Sussex Senior Cup third round tie does go ahead and United win, it will mean their season will contain a minimum of 60 games (42 in the league, nine in the FA Cup, one in the FA Trophy, at least five in the Ryman League Cup and at least three in the Sussex Senior Cup).

The U’s will be favourites as they play their football two levels higher up the non-league pyramid, although they are fourth-from-bottom of the Ryman League Premier Division and Peacehaven are top of Sussex County League Division One having lost just one of their 20 league games so far.

Like Rye United, Peacehaven also made it to the last 32 of the FA Vase and were narrowly beaten away to Larkhall Athletic on Saturday. If the game goes ahead, kick-off will be 7.30pm. Further updates will appear on this website later today.

United will travel to Concord Rangers, meanwhile, in the semi-finals of the Ryman League Cup on Tuesday February 19. The Canvey Island-based outfit beat Wroxham 2-0 in the quarter-finals last night.
