Pitch inspection for United game

Hastings United's game away to Wealdstone tomorrow is subject to a 9.30am pitch inspection

Hastings United’s game away to Wealdstone tomorrow (Saturday) is subject to a pitch inspection.

The pitch at St Georges Stadium was playable today, but the 9.30am inspection tomorrow is still on due to the poor overnight weather forecast.

United will be desperately hoping the Ryman Football League Premier Division match does go ahead given that they are yet to reach the midway point in their league programme and they already have midweek matches scheduled for every week bar one until the end of March.

Rye United, meanwhile, are optimistic of their FA Vase last 32 tie at home to Guernsey tomorrow going ahead. The biggest match ever to take place in the town was postponed at the first time of asking last weekend and nobody wants a second call-off this time around.

A message from Rye’s official Twitter feed today read: “No early inspection planned. Pitch ‘looking good’. Rain due overnight. Regular updates on @RyeUnited VERY HOPEFUL!”

Return to this website tomorrow morning for further updates.
