Sean Ray says there has been a lot of interest from players keen on joining Hastings United.

United player-manager Ray said: “We’ve had plenty of interest from players wanting to come here. We’ve had quite a few players contact us. I know areas I would like strengthen, but we’re a tough side to beat as it is, and the dressing room we’ve got and the character we’ve got in there are really good.

“I’m not going to bring anybody in for the sake of it. We’ve got a 16, 17-man squad that I’m happy with. If things don’t work out for us, we’ll look to bring someone in.”

United have midweek matches scheduled for just about every week until well into March. “Most players would rather play games than train, but when it’s every Saturday and Tuesday, the fatigue kicks in,” Ray added.
