Sussex County Cricket Club has announced that Michael Yardy will be out for around a month through injury.

Yardy, whose talent was forged with Battle and Hastings Priory, is sidelined after tearing a bicep muscle during the NatWest T20 Blast match against Glamorgan last Friday.

The all-rounder will be out of action for approximately four weeks for LV County Championship cricket, after which time he will hopefully be able to return as a batsman, but it will be longer before he is able to bowl again.

Former ARK William Parker Academy student Yardy, 33, played in 28 One Day Internationals and 14 T20 Internationals for England earlier in his career, winning the ICC World T20 in the West Indies four years ago.
