Bexhill Amateur Boxing Club is set to hold its first open show this coming Saturday.

A hard-hitting night’s action lies in prospect at Pebsham Community Centre. Doors will open at 7pm and the boxing will start at around 7.30pm.

We’ve got eight of our boxers matched and some of them it’s their first bouts.

Twenty-one bouts were scheduled on Tuesday morning and the club is hoping that around 15 or 16 of them will remain in place come the night itself.

Bexhill ABC coach Terry Freeman said: “Plenty of fights are matched up. We’ve got eight of our boxers matched and some of them it’s their first bouts.”

Boxers will be travelling to the Seabourne Road venue - which was Bexhill ABC’s former base before moving to Bexhill Squash Club - from as far afield as London and Southampton.

Boxing clubs from Crawley and Eastbourne will also be represented, while Hastings West Hill ABC ace Ben White will be boxing for a vacant championship belt.

Admission is £10 in advance (call Terry on 07840 914432) or £12.50 on the night.
