The deadline for entries to take part in the centenary Hastings Open Bowls Tournament is Monday June 13.

The five-star Bowls England-licensed tournament will take place at White Rock Gardens from August 8-13.

Entry forms are available from the tournament website at www.hastingsbowlstournament.com or by telephoning 461803.

While the men’s entries are slightly up on last year, more ladies’ entries are still needed.

Only 11 ladies’ singles and 11 ladies’ pairs have been received, and unless more are forthcoming, the tournament committee reserves the right to cancel these competitions if there are insufficient numbers to make them viable.

On a brighter note, there will be a Centenary Consolation Drawn Pairs competition for those entrants knocked out of all events they have entered by close of play on the previous day and markers of singles games.

Separate events will be held on Wednesday to Friday (August 10-12) from 1-5pm, and players can enter on all three days if eligible. Entry is £2 per person per event, maximum entry 48 players and minimum 12.
