Have you been inspired by the Hastings Half Marathon, but don’t want so many miles or the hills?
Well the seventh annual Keith Chandler Memorial Five-Mile Road Race from Hastings Town Hall on Sunday May 13 might be just the run for you.
Organised by Hastings Runners, the race has the advantage of no hills and is completely traffic-free along the promenade and back to the town hall.
So lots of beginners and slower runners, as well as those who want a fast time, are signing up for a race which will start at 10.30am. Anybody aged 15 and over can enter. All finishers will receive a special Olympic memento.
Numbers are limited to 500 so early entry is advised. The closing date for postal entries is Friday May 4. Entry forms are available from local sports shops, gyms and online at www.hastingsrunners.org.uk
Entries are also available online at www.runnersworld.co.uk/events. Fee (payable to Hastings Runners 5) is £9.50 attached, £11.50 unattached, £6 under-17s, or £15 on the day (subject to availability).
The run is being sponsored by the Priory Meadow Shopping Centre and many local companies. Being a charity race, all proceeds will be going to St Michael’s Hospice.
