The ninth annual running of the Keith Chandler Memorial Charity Five-Mile Race will take place on Sunday May 11.
The Hastings Runners-organised race will start outside Hastings Town Hall at 10.30am before heading out onto the promenade and returning to the town hall for the finish.
Since the course is completely flat and fast, the race always attracts the slowest joggers to the elite runners who wish to gain prizes. A memento is given to all finishers, while £100 is on offer for anyone who beats the male or female course records.
This year an additional £50 will be up for grabs for the first female runner under 28 minutes and first male runner under 25 minutes.
Entry forms are available from sports shops etc and can be downloaded from www.hastings5milerace.co.uk. Online entry can be made via www.runnersworld.co.uk/events.
The last date for postal entries is Friday May 2 and on-the-day entry will cost extra. All proceeds from the event will go to St Michael’s Hospice.
