Golf star Ben Evans matched his best finish of the European Challenge Tour season last weekend.
The Staplecross-based professional came tied 20th in Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge at Golf PGA France du Vaudreuil.
Evans, of Rye and Sedlescombe Golf Clubs, was in consistent form all week with four sub-par rounds for a seven-under-par total of 277.
It was a welcome return to form for Evans, who had missed the cut in eight of his previous nine events, including all of the previous six.
He made a slow start with two bogeys in his first three holes on day one, but recovered with five birdies, including two on the last two holes, and just one further bogey for a two-under 69.
Evans followed that with another 69 in round two, this time carding three birdies and a solitary bogey on his penultimate hole.
He bogeyed the first in round three, but responded with three birdies in four holes from the fifth for a third successive 69.
Evans dropped a shot at the second in round four before birdieing three of the next six. Two bogeys and a birdie on the back nine meant he signed for a one-under 70.
The 26-year-old lies 113th on the Challenge Tour Rankings going into the Azerbaijan Challenge Open, which will get underway on Thursday.
