Perfect conditions and plenty of runners are anticipated for the annual point-to-point event at Catsfield tomorrow (Sunday).
The much-needed rain in the first half of this week has made the going officially good and, in fact, the ground is probably in the best condition it’s ever been.
A good turnout of runners is therefore anticipated at Buckholt Farm, Watermill Lane, in contrast to recent years when the firm ground has deterred many potential competitors from risking their horses.
The two pony races will start at 12.30pm and the six horse races will follow from 2pm. Attractions include bookmakers, trade stands, a licensed bar and children’s amusements.
Admission is £25 per car with a concession for single occupancy and £5 for pedestrians. The East Sussex & Romney Marsh meeting always attracts large crowds with viewing excellent from the top car park.
