Yolanda King has been selected for the European Youth Table Tennis Championships next month.
The 16-year-old from Hastings will be making her debut in the prestigious competition in Kazan, Russia, from July 15–24.
Ken Muhr, her coach at the Cranbrook-based Weald Table Tennis Club, said: “I am really delighted for Yolanda. She has worked hard for this recognition, and I hope she takes full advantage of the opportunity and experience.”
Although no.4 in the England junior (under-18) girls’ rankings, King’s selection was in the balance. Her form has been up and down, but she will have gained confidence from winning two titles at the Sussex Grand Prix last weekend.
