Hastings & Bexhill will be eager to end a successful season with a victory.
The rugby club is hoping to add a top four finish in its maiden Kent One season to the Sussex Shield triumph of last month.
Head coach Kevin Smith said: “I think fourth would be good, fifth would be good, But I would still like to finish on a win, that will be key for us.”
H&B are three points behind fourth-placed Shooters Hill, who received a walkover away to bottom-of-the-table New Ash Green last weekend. H&B entertain HSBC tomorrow (Saturday) and Shoots host third-placed Dartfordians.
William Parker Sports College-based H&B won 30-10 away to HSBC in the reverse fixture on the opening day. It was Smith’s first game in the role and he described the pitch as the best he’d ever seen other than Twickenham.
“It was a good win that day and hopefully we can duplicate it at Hastings,” Smith added. “I think everybody’s been looking forward to the last game and wrapping up what everybody agrees has been a successful season.”
Both teams may well be a little rusty. H&B haven’t played for three weeks and ninth-placed HSBC’s last league outing was way back on Saturday March 10. Kick-off is 3pm.
