Hastings Priory talent Harry Finch has made his first class debut for Sussex.

The 18-year-old batting all-rounder was in the side for the LV County Championship Division One match away to Durham.

Finch wrote on social network site Twitter after the first day’s play on Tuesday: “Great feeling making my first class debut honoured to be the 711th player too!”

The England under-19s international bowled four overs for 15 runs and took a catch to dismiss one-time England wicketkeeper Phil Mustard as Durham - who included former England captain Paul Collingwood - were all out for 245 in their first innings.

Finch then made 11 batting at number seven as Sussex were all out for 112 in reply at the Emirates Durham ICG, which recently hosted the fourth Investec Ashes Test between England and Australia.

After Durham declared their second innings on 268-8, Finch scored three batting at number six as Sussex were all out for 116 in their second innings to lose by 185 runs.
