Ray braced for toughest decision

Hastings United player-manager Sean Ray

Hastings United player-manager Sean Ray says selecting the team to face Middlesbrough tomorrow (Saturday) will be the toughest decision he’s ever had to make.

Some sides virtually pick themselves, but that’s not the case with United and the line-up has changed slightly with every FA Cup game so far.

Ray said: “It’s going to be the hardest decision of my life for me and Mark (Stapley, assistant manager). It’s not going to be nice to have to leave certain players on the bench and there’s going to be disappointed players, but unfortunately it’s the nature of the job.

“We know the way they (Middlesbrough) play, we know what system they use and I can’t see that changing, but you never know what side they’re going to put out. We’ll be as organised as we can.”
