Hastings United have a busy afternoon with the media in store today (Wednesday).

First up at lunchtime is a photoshoot with The Sun newspaper at the historic Battle Abbey. The players will then head to The Pilot Field where they will have a go at the Crossbar Challenge for Sky Sports television show Soccer AM.

For those who haven’t seen the Saturday morning programme, the challenge involves players attempting to hit the crossbar from the halfway line amid plenty of laughs and banter from their team-mates.

Later in the afternoon there will be a press conference, again at the club’s ground, after which paying supporters will be able to have their photo taken with the FA Cup.

There has been considerable media interest in United lately as a result of their phenomenal run in the world famous competition.

The Ryman League Premier Division outfit has come through six rounds, three of them against higher level clubs, to set up a third round tie away to Championship high-flyers Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The U’s, whose second round replay at home to Harrogate Town on December 13 was televised live on ESPN, were featured in three national newspapers on Sunday.

Supporters wishing to buy tickets for the Middlesbrough game can still do so from the club during office hours. United have now booked eight coaches to travel to The Riverside Stadium from 6am on Saturday.
