News from Westfield
LIBRARY: Today (Friday) the mobile library van pays its last visit of the year and it will be another month before the next, ie January 11.

CAROLS: Tonight (Friday) at 7pm please join us at Corbieres, on the main A28 by the Community Christmas Tree for carols, followed by delicious hot, homemade soup.

This is organised by Westfield Community Association and everyone is welcome. Remember to wear warm clothing and bring a torch as this is an outdoor event.

Church: This third Sunday in Advent, services at St. John the Baptist, Westfield are Holy Communion (1662) at 8am, Nine Thirty Plus (all-age) at 9.30am and Parish Eucharist at 10.30am.

Please note: The Service of Lessons and Carols takes place at 6pm in the evening. This is a lovely carol service when the church is lit by candles.

Plough: It was party time last Saturday night at The Plough Inn when a good time was had by all. The winner of the hamper was Jules Mayell and the profit was forwarded to St. Michael's Hospice.

Mick and Debs at The Plough have been out and about learning the area and are enjoying getting to know Westfield residents and where they live.

The Christmas menu is now available for meals up to Sunday week, December 23. The special meal is only £15.95 a head, which includes a free glass of bubbly but booking is required at least 24 hours ahead with a £5 deposit.

Drop in and pick up a booking form. The usual menu is still available for everyday meals.

Walks: It was a pity that people looked at the weather and decided against joining the December community footpath walk, which started in The Plough car park. It turned out to be a nice afternoon for a walk.

Blood: Remember the mobile Blood Donor Unit comes to the Old Courthouse pub car park next Tuesday, December 18, for the usual afternoon and evening sessions.
