A call for young actors, singers and dancers

YOUNG performers are invited to join the White Rock Theatre’s Summer Youth Project production of hit musical Footloose.

The project runs from August 5 to 17, 10am to 5pm each day.

Public performances will run from August 15 to 17.

This spectacular musical, based on the 1980s hit film starring Kevin Bacon, is the focus of this year’s Summer Youth Project.

Full of electrifyin’ dance routines to classic ‘80s hits, Footloose is sure to get hearts racing and feet tapping.

Life in small-town Bomont is peaceful until city boy, Ren, arrives.

Breaking every taboo, Ren brings dance back to the heart of the town held back by the memory of tragedy.

Exploding with dance energy and sensational musical numbers, Footloose is guaranteed to get you to your feet.

Each year as part of the Summer Youth Projects, more than 100 participants spend just two weeks to produce some of the best musicals around.

Past projects have included Fame, We Will Rock You and High School Musical 2, to name but a few.

The White Rock Theatre is again looking for talented young performers to join this year’s Summer Youth Project.

If you are a budding singer, dancer or actor between the ages of nine and19 years old, have enthusiasm, and want the chance to work with a professional creative team and a live band this summer, then the theatre would like to hear from you.
