Easter art on show at Rye Community Centre

RYE Harbour Artist Group celebrates its 12th anniversary with an Easter Exhibition at Rye Community Centre from April 6 - 9.

The group was formed in 2000. All founder members lived in or had a particular interest in Rye Harbour and its unique environment.

The group soon outgrew their original venue, a private house in the Harbour, and then exhibited in the Harbour church but, as the popularity of the group grew, the Rye Community Centre was found to be a more accessible and popular venue.

The exhibition will feature a varied collection of work by member artists plus work by a number of talented guest artists. Many of the artists will be present at the show over the weekend.

RHAG members, Annie Soudain, Mike Stott, Val Fricker, Janet Pollard, Mike Slavin, Will Taylor and Judith Roberts will all be exhibiting. Their work will include, acrylics, watercolour, textiles, etching, linocuts, charcoal and pencil drawings and photography.

Guest artists are Vincent Mathews- paintings and drawings, Karl Terry - oil paintings, Rob Law -woodturning, and Leslie McKinley Howell - ceramics.

Entry is free and refreshments will available all day including home made cakes.
