Music celebration at No 48 this weekend

Bexhill is all about the music on Saturday and Sunday when No 48 in Devonshire Road lays on a festival of of live performance from singers and musicians.

It kicks off on October 8 with 12-2pm Open Mic, 2pm rock band The Mystique Shed, 2.30pm country and soul singer Helga, 3.30pm Andy Burton singing pop and soul, 4.30pm Nelson Rogers’s rock and blues, 5.30pm rocky funk and soul from Adam Elliot, 6pm The Finni’s rocky folk and soul, and finally from 8pm Ricochet with 50’s & 60’s rock’n’roll.

Sunday’s entertainment also begins at 12-2pm with Open Mic, then at 2pm Nimbus with vintage rock, 3.30pm soul singer Katie Wren, 4pm Grundy with retro rock and country, 5pm Acoustica pop trio, all ending at 6pm with The Green River rock and Blues band.

No 48’s Andy Rimmer said: “We are celebrating our 7th anniversary of bringing entertainment to Bexhill’s finest this weekend. We have been well supported through the years by the townspeople and by the artists we promote. We are very fortunate to have such a depth of talent in the area.” Donations over the festival will go to The Bexhill Lions “who support a range of good causes” in the area.
