Eastbourne and District Camcorder Club

In his report the chairman, Jonathan Wilde, mentioned some of the Club successes which had been achieved.

The Club had been successful in the Albany Competition with their film "Tea Break". Alan and Harry won the Best Photography award for "Sussex Trugs" at the SERIAC Festival.

Their film also won 'three stars' in the BIAFF Competition and a Certificate of Merit in the American Motion Picture Society Festival. In the recent Sussex Festival Jonathan and Malcolm won the best documentary award for "Jackman's Journey."

Eastbourne won the best club entry with "Time for an Old Time Music Hall?" and Jonathan won the best sound trophy for "Rivers, Centuries and Years." Keith Monks was awarded four stars for "Missing You."

The chairman thanked officers and committee members for their efforts with a special thanks to Brian both for his excellent film talents and for looking after the catering arrangements for many years with his wife, Diane. The chairman also thanked John Regan for his club reports which are sent to local newspapers and to SERIAC.

Officers were elected en bloc: Jonathan Wilde as chairman, Harry Lederman as secretary, Dave Diamond as treasurer and committee members Julia Galvin and Dave Hillebrand.

Julia's suggestion that the club might be prepared to participate in the 2009 Eastbourne Festival was accepted and Malcolm agreed to become involved.

And so ended another interesting and enjoyable year for the members. Club meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month in St. Luke's Parish Hall, Stone Cross 7.30 for 7.45pm.
