A panel of more than 80 judges from across the music industry cast their votes last month, with an initial list of nearly 5,000 applicants streamlined down to 15 categories of four acts each.

The red carpet ceremony will take place on October 27 at London’s Troxy Theatre and will be hosted by MTV presenter Laura Whitmore and Chris Stark from BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills show.

The show, sponsored by Liquiproof, will be televised and other official partners include Marshall Amps, UniLad and Locke Living.

Ahead of the ceremony, Rich gave his reaction: “It’s a complete shock really and a massive honour to be nominated. It’s nice to know my commitment to my music after all these years with very little help around me has been recognised and if I were to walk away with the award, it would be something truly special.”

Rich has most recently released his second studio album Brand New Start which reached as high as 16th in the Singer Songwriter charts on iTunes last month. You can follow his journey with the Unsigned Music Awards by following his Facebook page.
