Artistic director James Davies said: “Our projects include vibrant renditions of classic plays, new writing and devised theatre, all brought to life with music, flamboyant costumes and our trademark energetic physicality.

“Recent productions were a new production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, set at the height of World War II and filled with wartime songs and military regalia; and an enchanting adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s popular fairytale The Snow Queen.

“This year, we push ourselves a step further by taking part the Brighton Fringe Festival, which we feel is the perfect opportunity to showcase our young talent and bring the company into the public eye.

“Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest is a well-known comedy that has delighted audiences for many years. Ours is a production with a difference, which updates the play to today’s modern high society. Chief executives, bank managers, glamour girls, playboys and the cult of celebrity mix in a high fashion, cocktail-fuelled world.

“The setting suits Wilde’s satire of society, as the stereotypes and absurd behaviour of the characters are not so different from the upper classes of the author’s time. Come and see the show, performing from May 7-9 at the Iambic Arts Theatre, 38 Gardener Street, Brighton.”
