To mark their 20th anniversary, the band are taking part in a huge UK arena tour, performing at the Brighton Centre as well as releasing a brand-new single and album.

The band, consisting of Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian "H" Watkins, are well-known for their first single, a line-dancing techno song called 5, 6, 7, 8.

Their new single Scared Of The Dark will be released this Friday (March 10) – the same day that tickets for the Brighton show go on sale.

The new album, Tears On The Dancefloor, will be out on April 21.

Speaking of the forthcoming album, Steps said: “This is the album we think our fans have been waiting for.

"It was very important for us to have a hint of the past, but to try to blend it into modern day music.

"We think Steps are a little bit of what everyone needs right now. We can’t wait to take the new album, plus all our favourite hits, out on the road."

Steps scored 14 consecutive top five singles, sold more than 20 million records and reached Number One with three albums and three singles before they broke up in 2001.

They are BRIT award-winning and hold the record for the most consecutive sold-out nights at Wembley.

Tickets for the Brighton show go on general sale at 9am on Friday (March 10) and will be priced from £40.
