Must-see production for fans of legendary Laurel & Hardy

The legendary pair performed in Brighton in July 1952 but admiration of their act continues to this day and Stan and Ollie’s slapstick moves and hilarious gags remain popular with young and old alike.

Award-winning theatre company, White Cobra Productions, is bringing Another Fine Mess to Hastings as part of a national tour, culminating at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.

The play, written by Gillian Plowman, centres on Stephen and Phil whose tribute act to Laurel and Hardy includes classic sketches such as a rendition of Trail of the Lonesome Pine, from the 1937 film Way Out West.

But as Stephen and Phil rehearse, real life intervenes when a shocking revelation threatens their relationship.

Laurel/Stephen is played by Richard Jordan who has twice won the best actor award at the Isle of Man drama festival. Hardy/Phil is played by Paul Fowler making his first appearance for White Cobra, having directed its production of Days of Wine Roses.
