I am sure that everyone: in Bodiam has had the waste and recycling collection calendar for 2019. The Christmas and New year collections are Friday December 28 and Friday January 4. The Wednesday January 9 collection will be on January 10 and things return to normal from January 16.

It was sad: that it was too late to say about All Saints Day at St Giles Church on November 4. There was a short and simple service to remember our departed loved ones and light a candle.

I saw Christopher: the priest in charge of Bodiam the other day, who told me he had been with us a year on Remembrance Sunday. It is good to see signs with sense of humour in the Parish News. Tom me it would be great to have that in every Parish News, but that will not be. I do like the sign on a maternity room door - ‘push, push push’ and on a restaurant door - ‘don’t stand there and be hungry - come in and get fed up’

Jackie’s News, who have a newspaper delivery service in the village, would like more people to try the delivery service for free for eight weeks of delivery with no charge, as well as eight weeks of any newspaper for half price.

I have some news: about the MRI Scanner Appeal that the people of Bodiam have made donations to. Congratulations to the Conquest Hospital on meeting the £1 million target. We have a lot of kindness and generosity in Sussex, The suite hopes to receive its first patients in April 2019.

North Ridge Medical Practice: which takes in Sandhurst, welcomes Dr Sara Butler-Gallie, as a new partner. The practice is very fortunate to have her on the team. She replaces Dr Ann Wood, who has retired after 30 years of caring for generations of families in the village.

Church services: services at St Nicholas’s Church on October 28 are all age Communion at 10 AM. The reverent Rosemary Kobus van Wengen will take the service and at the mission church at 5 PM praise service, which Vicki Young will take and events at the Baptist Church on October 28 are baptismal service at 10:30 AM, Ken the pastor will take the service and soup and sweet lunch at 1 PM on November 1. Coffee morning will take place at the church at 10:45 AM.

Tim, the bus driver, who for many years was the number one the Stagecoach buses at Hastings is now the number one at Renown Buses. I saw him in Cranbrook and he would like to say all the very best to his friends that he made on the 349 route. Congratulations to one of Stagecoaches best drivers in the Hastings depot. He was rated fifth in the entire nation. Stagecoach will give him a new bus.

Gillian Davis and her late husband Richard: spent 60 years collecting rare books on Russian music in their cottage in Church Road. The shelves are no full so Mrs Davies is to hand over the collection of more than 500 books to Britain’s biggest university library at Oxford, allowing access to researchers for years to come at the Bodleian.
