Kathryn Gard has been nominated for her work at the Goodwood Health Club, where she has worked for three years.

“During that time Kathryn has pioneered changes at the health club and grown revenue by £300,000,” said the nomination form for Kathryn.

“Kathryn project managed the first phase of the redevelopment and is currently project managing the next three years worth of exciting changes to the health club and spa.”

Since starting at the clubs, she has introduced therapies for cancer patients and two new products lines.

“Kathryn is incredibly diplomatic but firm when dealing with difficult topics,” said her nomination form, “she is truly a role model in the industry.

“Kathryn is always accessible when needed whilst being operationally visible and staying in touch with all levels. Kathryn celebrates team success. However, this time she needs to be singled out as leading the team’s success. It is an honour to work with her.”

The spa is also nominated in the hospital, tourism and leisure category.

The health club cites an increased turnover of more than £1.5m in 2014 that has increased from £1.4m in 2013 and £1.2m in 2012.

The club said it had a membership retention rate of 98 per cent and sold 703 new memberships in 2014.

Growth is described as ‘balanced with yield’, with membership close to capacity.
