Bexhill Chamber of Commerce said it is working with venues to reopen the town to as many people and businesses as possible.
Howard Martin, Bexhill Chamber of Commerce president, said: “Our seafront and promenade are one of Bexhill’s greatest assets and we want people to safely use it as a fantastic open space while also dipping into the town centre to indulge in some much-needed independent shopping retail therapy.”
The chamber said it has linked up with six hospitality venues which will be reopening for alfresco dining and drinking on April 12.
Howard said six key venues in Bexhill will be opening up for alfresco dining.
He said: “The Sackville Bistro offers a top class menu of dining favourites from gourmet burgers to Sunday roasts. They also serve a great range of beers, wines and spirits.
“Pebbles on the Beach has re-designed its spacious decking terrace with access straight off the seafront promenade to ensure guests do not have to pass through the bar area before being seated. Pebbles is a seafood exclusive restaurant of the highest calibre with much of its fare caught fresh locally.
“Step across the Marina from Pebbles on the Beach and you have what is probably the coolest triad of restaurants and bars in Bexhill. With the Trattoria Italiana reopening its turf terrace alongside its incredibly popular new deli you have a wide choice of Italian fusion food.
“Next door with Rocksalt you have a unique combination of cool fashionable bar with traditional Italian street food.
“Back on the promenade and the historical Colonnade cafe will be reopening to once again be one of the best places in Bexhill to sip a glass of wine as the sun sets over Beachy Head. Walk another 500m along the seafront promenade to the legendary Sovereign Light Cafe, made globally famous by the Keane song of the same name, and you can enjoy a cup of coffee, ice cream or chilled beer.
“Bexhill is a distinctive town with a very distinctive offer, our chamber continues to support that distinctivness in new and exciting ways. We want all stakeholders to be as driven and passionate as we are about helping make sure Bexhill thrives as we move forwards.”
