Raising awareness of sun protection while gardening

Haskins Garden Centres, including Roundstone in Angmering, supported the national sun protection campaign, run by Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund.
The aim was to raise awareness about the importance of wearing sun protection when gardening.

Hide AdRepresentatives advised customers on best use of sun protection and how to check their skin, as well as giving out SPF50 in return for a donation to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to benefit melanoma research.
Alasdair Urquhart, plant adviser, said: "When temperatures rise it is great to make the most of your garden but often sun protection is overlooked.
"We were pleased with the response from our customers and are delighted that vital funds were raised for this wonderful charity.”
