"The doctors, nurses and all the staff at St Richard's Hospital are truly amazing. It really knocked me for six, it's the virus from hell. I don't drink, I don't smoke and I try to live quite a healthy lifestyle but it's still affected me.

"I have to say the care I received was absolutely wonderful. I could rate the ambulance service eleven out of ten and the staff at St Richard's a nine out of ten.

"The NHS is the best service in the world - truly amazing."

Peter said he believes 'everything has a positive' in the world and said his 'near death experience' will help him look at life differently from now on.

"It could have been worse but it has been life changing.

Explaining his work he said: "I have a spirit surgeon work through me and I have a gift where I can actually work on camera or in person and heal that particular person.

"In this case, the tables were turned on me."

Peter said his powers were useless in his predicament as they cannot be used on himself.

"I was doing mediumship works about five years ago doing the laying of hands on people."

He said his works are done with the help of surgeon Sir Reginald Watson Jones who died in 1972.
