A whodunnit classic

Preview: The Real Inspector Hound and Red Peppers, Stables Theatre, July 6 to 14. £12.50 (£7.50 concs).

OPENING at the Stables next week is Tom Stoppard’s, comedy whodunnit classic, The Real Inspector Hound. The twist, to this often hackneyed genre, is Stoppard’s view of the play which is seen through the eyes of two theatre critics. Adding another layer to the drama is the plot line that blurs the boundary between audience and actors. The second half of the programme is a shorter piece, Red Peppers, by another comedy master, Noel Coward, where a night of theatrical mayhem is brought to life. The cast for both plays includes some familiar Stables names: Bill Allender, Philip Blurton, Fiona Batey, Jackie Eichler, Charlotte Eastes and Rick Baker. Direction is by Tony Holtham.

Tickets are available from the box office on 01424 423221 or online at www.stables-theatre.co.uk.
