A blast from the past at rural show

RURAL Past Times held another successful event at the Pestalozzi International Village in Sedlescombe last weekend.

Visitors enjoyed watching steam threshing and timber cutting, as well as vintage tractors, classic commercials, stationery engines and heavy horses.

There were many crafts on show, such as trug making and demonstrations of wood turning on a pole lathe.

Sussex Ferret Welfare Society entertained in the arena with their ferret racing.

Several charities attended, including St Michael’s Hospice and Pestalozzi to raise awareness of their work.

The show was supported by Jim Flegg, well-known for his appearances on local television, who very kindly agreed to open the show.

Local charities will be chosen in the next few weeks to benefit from the proceeds of the show.
