A hair-raising fundraiser for GOSH charity

TWO hairdressers from Battle are organising a charity Christmas ball in aid of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Hannah and Jenny from In Trim Hairdressers are organising the event, which will take place on November 23 in the Montgomerie Suite at Bannatyne’s spa Hotel, Hastings, as part of the HAIRraising appeal.

Founded in 2010 by hairdressing entrepreneur John Frieda, the HAIRraising appeal invites the hairdressing community to come together to raise vital funds for GOSH.

The money raised will go towards the hospital’s new Respiratory Unit. The new unit will provide more space and privacy for families, including spacious bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and a comfortable bed which will enable parents or carers to sleep by their child’s bedside overnight as well as a high dependency unit which will provide ample space for medical equipment.

There will be a raffle with prizes supplied by local businesses and friends and family of Hannah and Jenny.

The pair said: “We are so excited and honoured to be surrounded by such generous people who are willing to support us on our journey to our challenge!”

And Hannah and Jenny are gearing up for their next fundraiser, the Round the Island Challenge in May 2014, which will see them cycle 120km in two days.
