Applications for fire cadets are sought
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is looking for new applicants aged between 15 and 18 to join their fire cadets programme.
Watch manager Angela Spencer-Smith said: “Being a fire cadet with West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is an excellent personal development opportunity for young people, as well as an opportunity to learn about self-discipline and team work, which are really valuable life skills.”

Hide AdCadets are provided with a fire kit, uniform and take part in a range of activities, including a drill night once a week.
Cadet Jack Gilbert said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed being a fire cadet. It’s great to feel part of a close-knit team and to get the opportunity to learn from the local firefighters.
“I’ve found it a brilliant way to learn lots of new skills and to achieve things I wouldn’t have believed I could have at the start.
“I have also had loads of fun along the way.”
