Arun police film’s summer car crime warning

Drivers are being warned by police to lock up their vehicles and remove any valuables from sight, particularly during warmer weather.

Officers say extra care is needed when vehicles are left unoccupied at beauty spots, in car parks and even outside people’s homes, as many thefts reported are from unlocked cars and vans with items left on display.

The short video poses the question ‘How long do you think it would take a thief to steal your property?’ and shows a ‘thief’ taking an item from an unlocked car in a couple of seconds.
