2m@1 are meeting on July 9, 1-3pm with a talk entitled “What you get out of a picture” with Dr Graham Whitham, an Art Historian.

Ashburnham Local History Group are meeting on Monday July 9, 7pm at Ashburnham Church Hall. They will be leaving from the Church Hall for a guided tour of the historic Ashburnham Place and if time allows, Medieval Ashburnham Part Two: The Canons an the Constable. All are welcome to join.

The Ashburnham & Penhurst MI men are meeting on the evening of July 10 at the Ash Tree Inn. If you would like further information about the MI, please contact Richard Hann on 893130.

The next Coffee Morning is on Monday July 16 in the church hall, Ashburnham Place 10:30am - 12pm. You are welcome to go along for a good friendly chat. For further information, please contact Tina on 01424 843728.

Ashburnham & Penhurst WI are meeting on July 16, 7.30pm at the Village Hall. This months speaker will be Tina Cumberiege, telling them about ‘The Real Vicar’s Wife’!

Ashburnham & Penhurst Village Lunch will next be held on July 18 at the Village Hall, 12.30pm. If you wish to book your place, please contact Janet Peters on 892311.

The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in Ashburnham (by the chapel) on Thursday July 19 and 19, 9.50am - 10.10am.

There will be a Coffee Morning on July 21 at Ashburnham Sports Pavilion, 10am - 12noon. This is to raise funds to equip the Pavilion kitchen. Along with the teas and coffees will be some delicious cakes, a chocolate tombola and a produce stall. If you have any enquiries, please contact Gill on 892674 or Louise on 893976.

The next village book group session is at 2pm, Friday July 27. During the coming months we’re looking forward to books by J G Farrell and Tracey Chevalier among others. They typically end up talking about several books and all sorts of topics. If you’d like to join them call Nicky on 892474.
