There has been an incredible response to the opening of the new Kino cinema in Rye.
The two screen cinema was praised by Rye Mayor Bernardine Fiddimore at last week’s full council meeting, while Rye Rother councillor Lord Ampthill said he was ‘awestruck’.
The Mayor said: “It is already proving to be a great success. I went myself last Saturday and met one couple who told me it was their third visit that week.”
Lord Amptill added: “The cinema is hugely popular.”
The cinema is based on the old adult education site at Lion Street.
It has two screens and shows a variety of films ranging from big new releases to art-house films.
It also includes a restaurant and bar.
