Battle Brewery open for business

The ribbon has been cut on Battle’s new brewery.

Battle Brewery welcomed Huw Merriman MP, Battle mayor David Furness and Mac McCutcheon from the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) to officially open the new business on Friday March 3.

Cllr Furness said: “It was a great pleasure to attend the official opening of Battle Brewery.

“What a wonderful business to have in Battle, marking the history of our town, with such a special product.

“The beer, both the Conquest and Abbey Pale brews, are wonderful and I am sure will be a first choice for customers when buying a truly great beer, with a wonderful provenance.

“I know that this business will go from strength to strength and I wish the owners the very best of luck in the future.”

Mr Merriman tweeted his pleasure at the arrival of Battle Brewery.

He said: “@BattleBrewery on the map. As a @CAMRA_Official member of many years, excited to have a brewery in 200miles of #Bexhill #Battle constituency”.

Partner Rob Dudman, one of the founders of Battle Brewery, said: “It was a great pleasure to have Huw, David and Mac officially open the brewery.

“Since opening for business we have been very excited by the response from locals and businesses.

“We are now working hard to replenish stock, by doubling production.

“We hope to be back to reasonable stock levels by mid-March.

“We’d like to thank everyone for their support.”

Battle Brewery is located on Netherfield Hill Farm, Netherfield Hill, Battle, and is open every Saturday between 10am and 3pm. An online store is also open with pickup and delivery options - see for more.
