Congratulations are due to the Battle traders who won the town’s 2015 Gala Night fancy dress competitions.

They were awarded their prizes by the president of the Battle and District Chamber of Commerce, Uta Acuna, at a recent festive chamber meeting, held in the library of Battle Abbey School.

Uta presented the Mayor’s Trophy for the Best Individual Fancy Dress to Molly Everest of Cobblers for her charming portrayal of Cinderella.

Kerri and Alan Deeprose accepted the Town Council Shield for the Best Dressed Business.

Their bar staff in the Bull brought a flavour of the old Wild West to the High Street in their colourful cowboy and cowgirl outfits.

And finally, the Chamber of Commerce Cup for the Best Decorated Shop Window was won by Woodcocks Interiors for its impressive wintry display of stags in snow.
