Battle mayor elected for a second term

RICHARD Bye has been elected as chairman of Battle Town Council for the second year running. Cllr Bye beat fellow Councillor Richard Jessop to the role by nine votes to four in a vote at Tuesday night’s town council meeting.

Cllr Bye, who will also serve as mayor, said: “It was a great honour last year to be elected.

“I believe it’s a greater honour to be nominated for a second term. Thank you very much.”

Cllr Sylvie Pry has been elected as vice chairman and deputy mayor.
