Battle restaurant is named as one of the best in the country

Nobles Restaurant in Battle has been named as the one of the best in the UK.

The restaurant, in the High Street, received the prestigious award in the annual Square Meals out-of-London awards.

The votes are made up from Square Meals readers, bloggers and their nationwide team of reviewers

Nobles received over 2,400 votes placing them 57th in the national awards poll.

Paul Noble said “We are absolutely delighted to have just been told about this as we has no idea we had even been nominated.

Bobles were up against top establishments such as

The Fat Duck, in Bray, LeManoir aux Quat’Saisons and The Waterside Inn, all of which are 3 star Michelin restaurants.

Paul commented: We are so proud to be named among them.

“As with everything Nobles stands for, we couldn’t do this without a great team, fabulous produce and supportive customers, who we would like to thank very much for helping to make this happen.”

Paul Noble is the head chef and has been a chef for over 30 years.

He has previously worked at various fine dining restaurants, clubs and hotels, including: The Goring (London’s only privately owned 5 star hotel), The 5 star Landmark Hotel in London (famous for its Middle Eastern cuisine) and the highly acclaimed Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath amongst others.

As well as the latest award, Nobles were a finalist in the 2013/2014 Sussex Food and Drinks Awards.

All of their food is homemade on the premises using fresh, seasonal and local produce.

Paul said: “We care about our produce and its origin and we try to support as many local suppliers, farmers and fishmongers as possible.”

The restaurant has a vegetarian tasting menu on August 14. Booking essential.
