Some very important news for all parents of children using the free bus service to Robertsbridge School and general bus users in this rural area. If the free bus service to Robertsbridge is stopped it takes the right to choose which school children can go to if they can’t afford to pay the fare of around £600 a year. Please fill in the online survey whether you have children at school now or are planning to in the future as this is this service needs to carry on.

Over the next three years east Sussex county council needs to find £63 million of savings. As a consequence the council is reviewing a number of it services including how it provides support to the bus services.

Please complete the online survey at or if you can’t go online call 0345 6080193 by August 17.

The next Beckley parish council meeting will be held on Wednesday August 14 7.30pm at Beckley village centre. All welcome

Great news for Beckley Computer Club. This time around they are doing it a little differently. running two courses at the same, one in the computer suite and one in the room opposite - people bring their own laptop (max four people) and do a troubleshooting workshop - a lot of people have bought a new laptop and this has Windows 8 on it, and they want help -they come to a class and get things working and moving on for them.

They are doing three different classes in the computer suite:

Basic: For the novices, people who are scared to use a computer or have very basic knowledge. The course runs for six weeks at a time and will cover, Word processing, spreadsheets, the internet etc. £30.

General: For people who know how to use a computer and can get by doing only what they need. This course will allow you to become more effective, efficient and confident in using the computer, programs and the internet. This is five weeks and £25

Internet Safety: How to bank, shop, surf, research and even date online. It does not only understand how to use the internet, but also understand how to keep you and your information safe. This is for four weeks and £20

The troubleshooting workshop runs alongside these courses, three weeks at a time and £15.

The basic course starts on 31st July, which is fully booked.

However, there are two places left for the workshop starting on July 31 ending 14th August and three places on the second workshop starting August 21 finishing on the September 4. The general course starts on the September 25 and again that’s fully booked.

They have four places currently on the workshop running on the September 25 to and9th October 9 and October 16 to 30. For further info call 07904 837751.
