A Great turn out for Sundays Beckley 10k Race it was the 9th running of this popular village race. Big thank you to all the runners, helpers and supporters.

Here to help are in the need of volunteers in the Beckley area to help. Elderly and young people when they first come out of hospital. It might be offering transport to the doctor or hospital, even doing a little shopping or helping to cook a meal. More details 01797280377.

People are still parking their cars and work vans on the pavements in Beckley main street, please be aware that the local police are aware of this problem. Just take a minute to check if you have left enough room for a mother and push chair to get through! They shouldn’t have to go on the main road to pass your car or work men’s van.

Beckley preschools are holding a jumble sale on 17th November at Beckley village centre from 10am till 12. So why not have a clear out they are after any jumble please drop it off at the village hall. You can drop off anytime during the week in term time..

Both Beckley Preschool and Northiam Nursery run weekly toddler group sessions during term time. Northiam Tadpoles meets on Tuesdays from 9.15 to 11.15am at Northiam School. Buzzy Bees runs every Wednesday from 9.15 to 11.15am at Beckley Village Centre. Both sessions cost just £2. We are very friendly; we have even got fantastic reviews on the Netmums website.

FREE MICRO CHIPPING FOR DOGS. Dogs Trust has just started a huge chipping campaign to run with the new government announcement that from the 6th April 2016 all dogs will have to be micro chipped. Dogs Trust have new roaming chipping teams who will be offering FREE micro chipping across the UK. They are currently looking to book in events for the rest of the year and next. They can join in with any events that you already have running. They are happy to work outside in estates or open areas as they have a gazebo which can be set up. Also work in community halls/centres or anywhere available. 2014 will 100 years of the Great War in 1914, we are looking into the names of the Beckley men sadly killed that are commemorated on the memorial. If you have any information on these names below please contact 01797260 416.

If you have a dog DONT let it do its business on the playing fields and pavements in Beckley. There are dog fouling bins in the village so use them. If you see any owners not picking up their dogs mess, they can be reported with £75 find. Beckley Village Centre is available to hire. By people hiring and supporting fund raising events put on by the hall committee it will keep the hiring costs down.
